About Our Tours

Group size
We keep our tour groups as small as possible. The maximum is 8 and the minimum is 6. This helps maintain a better service, giving you more freedom and opportunities to interact with local people. However, we do take smaller groups upon request.

Rooming & accommodation
The tour price is based on sharing a twin room, although single rooms can also be provided at a supplementary rate. There is a good mix of comfort and adventure. We put up in 3 or 4 star hotels in cities and the best possible local style hotels in smaller towns. These give you the maximum opportunity to acquaint yourselves with the local area and its people. In some cases, we may stay in guesthouses, farmhouses or tents during treks, which are often the most exciting experience of the tours.
Should you be arriving prior to, or leaving later than the arranged tour itinerary, we can also be of assistance in arranging accommodation.

Meals
All meals included.
Breakfasts in the hotels, during trekking/camping, cooked meals are provided for breakfast and dinner, while lunch is usually a picnic.
We will try special local food everywhere we go in local resturants, that give you more chances to get to know the locals.

Fitness
Any reasonably healthy adult can join these tours, except for the treks and trips to Tibet and Kham, which are more physically demanding because of their high altitudes.

Trekking Grades
Easy
– Short walks within four hours at low altitudes which are suitable for anyone in good health and normal fitness.
Moderate – Longer walks up to 7 hours at altitudes below 3500m involving regular steep ascent and descent within 900m.
Strenuous – Full-day walks up to 9 hours at altitudes over 4000m with ascent and descent of over 1000m. Previous trekking experience is recommended.

How to join
All the tours are “Land Only”, so you need to book your own international flights to the city where the tour starts. Joining information will be sent to you upon confirmation of your booking.
