Sister's Rice Festival

During this trip, you will attend one of the most interesting festivals of Miao in Guizhou, visit the old town of Zhenyuan, and visit one of the most beautiful places in China, Guilin and Yangshou, as it said: Mountains and Rivers of Guilin are the most on the earth, but Yangsgou is on top Guilin.

This festival originates from a tale of a lonely beautiful mountain girl, with the help of her friends’ to look for a boyfriend for her. The festival takes place on a riverbank near the village of Shidong on the 14th to 17th of the 3rd Lunar Mouth. Festival activities include eating sisters’ rice, visiting friends, singing, dancing and boat racing.

Itinerary

Day 1, Arrival in Guiyang, check in at hotel, at leisure. Day 2, Day trip to visit Huangguoshu Waterfalls which the biggest in Asia, visit an old Han Chinese village Tianlong. Day 3, Drive to Taijiang and attend the Opening Ceremony of Sister's Rice Festival, drive to Kaili Day 4, Day trip to Xijiang to visit the biggest Miao village in Guizhou, visit the village and take some walks in the area to see the terraces near the village. Day 5, Drive to Zhenyuan via Shidong to attend the Sister's Rice Festival again near Qingshui River. Day 6, Visit the ancient town of Zhenyuan by wandering in the old quarter to see the traditional houses built ages ago, walk up to the mountain on the back of the town where you can have a bird’s eye views of Zhenyuan and Wuyang River. Visit Dragon Cave which built with temples in different styles on a Cliff on the bank of Wuyang River, Day 7, 20 minutes drive to Tiexi River and take a three-hour walk in a mountain valley follow a stream to see the different vegetations of the mountain and vary landscape. To visit a place called Dragon Pool which the water comes out in a pool about 500 square meters, it’s blue and green with fogs on the surface, no one know how deep it is. Day 8, Seventy minutes boat ride on Wuyang River to enjoy the beautiful landscape and blue water, drive to Shibing, take a two hour walk on Mt.Yuntai Day 9, Raft on Shamu River, half an hour drive from the tour and start with the three hour raft on Shamu River, two people in each rubber boat and you can stop anytime during the raft for a rest or a swim, the water is so clean that you can see the fish in the river. Day 10, Six hours drive to Guiyang and fly to Guilin Day 11, Day trip to visit the Dragon's Backbone Terraces carved out by Yao and Zhuang Peoples for generations. Day 12, Boat cruise on Li River to Yangshou with dramatic views of the River along the way,arrive Yangshou and visit the town. Day 13, Cycling trip in Yangshou to visit the villages and Moon Hill Mountain Day 14, Half a day trip to Yulong Bridge and take some walks in the area to enjoy the beauty of  the countryside.
